She then went on to receive her law degree from the University of Miami in 2005. In 2005, she became an Assistant Public Defender here in Hillsborough County where she worked until 2023. While at the Public Defender\u2019s Office, she worked her way through the office as a line attorney in the Intake, Juvenile, Misdemeanor and Felony Bureaus. From 2016 to 2019, she was a Division Chief in the Juvenile Bureau at the Public Defender\u2019s Office.
