About Dana M. Herce-Fulgueira

Attorney Dana M. Herce-Fulgueira received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Florida in 1999. She then went on to receive her law degree from the University of Florida in 2002. In 2003, she became an Assistant Public Defender here in Hillsborough County where she worked until 2022. She worked as a Division Chief in the Felony Bureau at the Public Defender’s Office from 2008-2011. In 2012, she joined the Major Crimes Unit where she handled sex offenses, crimes against children and Homicides. She worked solely on Homicide cases and Death Penalty cases from 2015-2022.

Ms. Herce-Fulgueira has participated in over 130 jury trials as either lead counsel or as 2nd chair. She is Death penalty qualified as a trial attorney. She has lectured on various subjects including Sentencing Guidelines, Utilizing Expert Witnesses and various other areas within the legal field.
