About Roxanna Solis Smith

Attorney Roxanna Solis Smith received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Florida in 2002. She then went on to receive her law degree from the University of Miami in 2005. In 2005, she became an Assistant Public Defender here in Hillsborough County where she worked until 2023. While at the Public Defender’s Office, she worked her way through the office as a line attorney in the Intake, Juvenile, Misdemeanor and Felony Bureaus. From 2016 to 2019, she was a Division Chief in the Juvenile Bureau at the Public Defender’s Office. In 2019, she became the Division Chief in the Misdemeanor Bureau supervising over 15 newly barred attorneys.

Ms. Smith has participated in over 90 jury trials as either lead counsel or as 2nd chair and over 80 bench trials.
